Hunting - What remains and what changes
“Hunting - What remains and what changes” sheds light on the changes that hunting is experiencing due to various influences. Climate change, the increasing plot size in agriculture, increasing traffic, new roads and the growing use of nature by locals and tourists influence the behavior of game. These changes are leading to more game damage and a demand for higher shooting rates. At the same time, traditional hunting methods, such as driven hunts, are becoming increasingly difficult due to the fragmentation of the landscape. However, new technologies such as drones, game cameras and night vision devices offer hunters new opportunities to observe and shoot game. However, this technology also leads to game becoming increasingly stressed and their visibility decreasing further. In his book, the author addresses these developments, talks about outdated hunting practices and argues for the introduction of game reserves, which already exist in countries such as Switzerland, Italy and the USA, but are not yet widespread in Germany and Austria. Written in German.
